Bengal Traditional Costumes:
Bengal Traditional costumes are very simple and seem calm. They represent the rich tradition and culture of the region. Men like to wear the Dhoti and women love to wear saris. There are many varieties of designs and colours studded on the saris in Bengal.
The Bengali cotton saris are being exported throughout India. The dresses also available at low prices. The people in Bengal wear the traditional and religious representative costumes. During the festival period like Durga puja, the devotees wearing traditional clothing. Bengal and Bangladesh costumes have very similarity because both the places same before India got Independence.
Bengal Traditional Costumes of Women:
Sari is the most traditional costume to the Bengali women. It is one of the traditional and widespread dresses for ladies. The saris weave with the yarn of silk or cotton. At present, the girls using to wear Salwar Kameez dresses in their daily life.
Bengal Traditional Costumes of Men:
Hindu’s traditional dress is Dhoti. The Dhotis made with silk or cotton, and the size is very long. Dhotis are only available in white colours nowadays we can find them in various colours. Lungi also another traditional dress for men. They knew in many regions in India. We can find them easily in the markets. The villagers usually wear it on the regular basis. And another traditional dress is Punjabis, these are loosely fitted clothing that reached close to the knees. These are like the kurtas and also available in widely in Bengal. They made with cotton or silk.
Changes in Bengal Traditional Costumes:
At present, there are a lot of changes occurring in the lifestyle of Gujarat people. The Bollywood movies and other series are influencing on the lifestyle of women as well as men. The costumes, the ornaments and other styles are moulding according to the changes in the society. These days, the ornaments are getting more aesthetic and stylish. Women are wearing these styles on the occasions and also influencing the culture and heritage of their own.
