Charminar Magnificent Monument:
Charminar is one of the magnificent monuments in India. Quli Qutb Shah built the Charminar in the year 1591 AD. Behind the construction of the Monument, we can find many stories in the
History. Among them was the Once Plague Spread in Hyderabad, and many people died. Then Quli Qutb Shah vowed to build a Masjid if the plague ended. According to his vow, he made the Charminar and built a Masjid on the top floor of the Monument. The Masjid covered 45 praying spaces and open spaces for more people to pray on Fridays. During the Nizam administration, the British used this Monument as a warehouse for Liquor. During the Mughal Invasion, they destroyed the Southeastern Minar and rebuilt it in 1824 AD.
Charminar Architecture:
Charminar is beautiful and has a square shape. The Monument has four minarets in each corner. Each side of the Charminar is 20 meters, and minarets stand at 48.7 meters. The minarets have four stories each and are in the shape of a carved ring—these 149 steps inside each minaret to climb up to view the city. We can see the Masjid on the western roof of the Monument. The first floor has fantastic balconies where people can get an amazing city view. The Monument was built using Islamic and Hindu architectural styles. The arches, minarets, and domes are adopted from the Hindu architectural style. We can see such styles of architecture in South Indian temples. So the construction signified the cultural unity among the people 500 years ago.
