Rohtang Pass is at an altitude of 3979 meters height from the sea level. Among this pass, we can see beautiful views which seem passion able. In the winter season, the pass is closed due to heavy snow and the dense fog covered heavily. To reach this place it takes one hour time from Manali.
The Hidimba Devi Temple at Manali Hill Station:
Manali had the significance in Hindu epic Mahabharata; here the Pandavas were attacked by Hidimb. Bheema did the fight on Hidimba and killed in the battle. Later Bheema married Hidimb’s sister Hidimba and gave birth to Ghatotkach, the great warrior and shows his fierce fight against the Kauravas in Mahabharata. In the name of Hidimba Devi the temple constructed in 15 century. The temple has a heavy crowded with the tourists and visitors, due to the temple’s importance since olden days.
Vashist Hot Water Springs:
Vashist Hot water springs are only 2 km away from Manali. There are two temples dedicated to saint Vashist and the temples carved beautifully and elaborately. The temple tanks filled with underground hot water to springs on the devotees which contain sulphur and medicinal properties. So these water supposed to have a salubrious effect.
Manali Religious Tibetan Monasteries:
Tibetan monasteries are the worth seeing places. We can see here many monasteries like Thekchoking Gompa which constructed in 1969. It is the highest concentration of Buddhist monasteries. The Kchoking Gompa also another attractive monastery.
Solang Valley, the best place for the adventures tourists. The place offers various recreational activities like skiing, paragliding, skating, and parachuting.
Religious Place Manikaran:
Manikaran, the pilgrimage site for Hindus and Sikhs. The place has mythological importance and also a good place for visiting temples and other places of worship.
In the winter the Minimum temp could be below -5 C from Oct to March. The remaining days the temperature never exceeds 20 Degree Celsius.
How to Reach the Place:
By Air: The nearest airport Bhuntar located thirty miles away from Manali. The flights also available from Delhi and Chandigarh. But the prices are very heavy. It is advisable not to carry too much amount of baggage.
Rail: Chandigarh and Pathankot are the nearest railhead. The bus facilities are very convenient.
Road: Road connectivity is well developed to Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Shimla and Dharamsala.
