Punjab traditional costumes have rich culture and tradition in India. The dress is a very famous costume in India. Women are interested in wearing Punjabi dresses for comfort. Hence the traditional costumes are stunning and attractive.

Salwar Kameez:

Salwar Kameez is the traditional dress of Punjabi women. Most of the girls felt interested in wearing the salwar kameez. Phulkari is another traditional dress that women wear at weddings and formal occasions. However, Punjabi women are famous for their handicraft phulkari. The Very famous dress is Kurta, which is trendy all over India. The style of wearing Kurta started in the 11 century. There are different types of Kurtas: Multani, phulkari, bandhani, muktasari etc. Women also wear kurtas.

These costumes existed during the Maurya empire. But still, the people wearing these oldest types of dresses.

Punjabi Ghagra:

Punjabi Ghagra is another traditional dress of Punjabi women widely used Punjabi Ghagra, the advent of the Punjabi suit. Still, in some regions in Punjab, the conventional ghagra has been used to wear.

Punjabi Suit:

This is the traditional dress of Punjabi women. The dress is worn by Punjabi women and every woman who lives in different regions of India. The clothing is very comfortable and seems dignified. With some other styles of Punjabi, the men also wear this.

Chola:

Punjabi people gave value to the Chola dresses. It is a religious dress Punjabi people wear while visiting gurudwara.

With the advent of westernized styles into the present society, the type of costumes has changed in their manner and designs. Now the costumes are turned into jeans, shorts, funky t-shirts and many western variety costumes. These styles have been mixed with local traditions.
