Paravastu Chinnayasuri Famous Telugu Writer

Paravastu Chinnayasuri History:

Sri Chinnayasuri was a famous Telugu pundit of the 19th century. He was born at Perambur of Chengalpattu district in 1807 AD and died in 1861 AD. Chinnayasuri wrote many stories based on morals. He followed Saivism and worked as a Telugu Pandit in the Government College of Madras. As a Pandit of the Telugu language, he dedicated his life entirely to the progress and promotion of Telugu literature. He extensively researched Andhra Grammar and wrote many books on Telugu grammar. These books are still the most significant source for learning Telugu. Especially after researching Andhra Grammar, he wrote Baala Vyaakaranamu with a new understanding style to everyone. His books are widely available in Andhra Pradesh, and every student can study his grammar in their academic life.

The writer of Neetichandrika:

He wrote Neetichandrika, Sootandhra Vyaakaranamu, Andhra Dhatumoola and Neeti Sangrahamu. His stories were straightforward to understand, and he narrated the story with the character of animals and birds. The students were not only amused to listen and read his novels but also learned the moralĀ of how to lead life. Chinnayasuri translated from the Sanskrit ‘Panchatantram’ into Telugu as ‘Neetichandrika’. His Mitra Labham and Mitra Bedham stories wrote as native stories. This NeetiChandrika, also translated as Moonlight of Morals, into English. Generally, Neeti Chandrika contains five books: Mitra Labham, Mitra Bedham, Vigraham, Sandhi and Tantram. The first books were translated into Telugu by Chinnayasuri, and later, Kandukuri Veeresa Lingam translated Vigraham and Sandhi into Telugu. The fifth one is still not translated.

Writing Style of Paravastu Chinnayasuri:

Chinnayasuri’s writing style has peculiar qualities, and no other writer touches his classical writing style. Some writers tried to create his classical style but failed desperately. His prose style of writing is still unparallel to any other well-known writer. In Telugu literature, the writers Kandukuri Viresalingam and Kokkonda Venkataratnam tried to follow Chinnayasuri’s style and wrote Vigrahamu and Sandhi; finally, those formed in a different pattern. The readers could find the difference between Chinnayasuri and other writers while reading his books.

Service to Telugu Literature:

The students are fond of reading Neetichandrika and can easily understand the stories. Ordinary people who do not have command over the Telugu language can understand the levels of Neetichandrika. So we can easily understand how Chinnayasuri showed his intensity while writing Neetichandrika. The stories in Neetichandrika narrate the morals of life to the readers in slender and admirable Telugu language. We are very thankful to Chinnayasuri for bringing the moral-based stories to the threshold of Telugu people, and also, we are very fortunate to have such Telugu literature.
