Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a thriving cricket captain of the Indian team. He was born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His father is Pan Singh, and his mother is Devaki Devi in the village Lvali of Almora District of Uttarakhand. His father works as a junior manager at MECON. So they migrated to Ranchi and settled there. Dhoni has siblings of Jayanti’s sister and a brother Narendra.

At first, he played the goalkeeper role for his football team; one day, his coach sent Dhoni to play cricket in support of a local cricket team. He was interested in playing as a goalkeeper and showed his skills with tremendous effort. Like these, he continued to play cricket and dreamed of playing once for the Indian cricket team. His regular performance made him play for the Commando Cricket club from 1995 to 1998. After his 10th standard, he entirely focused on playing cricket.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni started his first-class career from the year 1999-2000. He played his first one-day international match against Bangladesh on 23 December 2004 at Chittagong, Bangladesh. But in this match, he scored nothing and ran out on the first ball he faced. But in the same series, he scored 148 runs from just 123 balls in the fifth match in Visakhapatnam. In the score, he hit four sixes and fifteen boundaries. With this match, he proved himself as not only a wicketkeeper but also a first-class batsman too. Really from the Indian side, he is one of the best wicketkeepers who combated men in Indian cricket history. In the same year, on 31 October, Dhoni scored 183 runs against Srilanka in Jaipur. He created a world record for scoring 183 runs as a cricketer.

In 2007 the BCCI named Dhoni as the captain of the Indian cricket team for the inaugural ICC World 20 matches held in South Africa. In the tournament, Dhoni led the team with his mind-blowing ideas and was crowned champions of the 20-20 world cup. In the same game, the Indian team suppressed Pakistan with a thrilling victory. He was also selected as the day International series captain in the same year. Finally, he was made full-time Test captain of India when Anil Kumble was injured and his announcement of his retirement. Under his captaincy, the Indian team got World Cup also after 1983.
