Ratan Tata was born on December 28, 1937, in Surat. His father name is Naval Hormusji Tata. and mother Soonoo. He is the great-grandson of a brilliant entrepreneur and the founder of TATA groups Jamshedji Tata. His family belonged to wealthy and famous social people in Bombay. Unfortunately, his parents separated in the mid-1940’s. He is the present Chairman of the Tata Group; The Company speeded in every business and continuing successfully with large profits.
During his childhood days, he suffered a lot due to their parent’s separation. He studied his early education at the Campion School, Mumbai. Later in 1962 he completed his Architectural and Structural Engineering. From Cornell University, USA. He also completed his Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, USA. He got the job in IBM and not accepted the job on the advice of JRD Tata and joined the Tata Group in December 1962.

Internally Ratan Tata is a shy man and prefers to maintain a low profile in the public. He participated rarely in the social functions. He has his own capital money in Tata Sons the holding company of the group. His capital in various group companies made him one of the richest men in the world. At present, the worth of his property is estimated around US50$. JRD announced him as his next successor. In 1971 he appointed the Director-in-Charge of the National Radio and Electronics Company Limited.

There was a lot of change occurred during the period of 1991’s. He elected as group chairman in 1991, and he filled the manager posts with the younger. This made him a lot of change in the attitude of Tata company affairs. With his ideas and suggestions and pushing the non cordial things in the company made the company, one of the largest market capitalization of any other business Companies on the Indian Stock Market. Under his business leadership qualities, the Tata Group handover the famous two iconic British Brands Jaguar and Land Rover. He also released the world cheapest car Nano on January 10, 2008.

Mr. Tata is also very fond of doing the philanthropically worked. He associated many organisations which are in India and Overseas and the chairman to two largest philanthropic trusts, which are doing the generosity activities in large scale in all over the world. Tata also a member of Indian Prime Minister Council on Trade and Industry. He is the chairman of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and also the President of Indian Institute of Management. He is also a board trustee of Cornell University and the University of Southern California. His services also spread to many other famous Multi National Companies like Mitsubishi Corporation, JP Morgan Chase, Rolls-Royse, and Monetary Authority of Singapore.

About his Personal Life and Marriage:

Ratan Tata has been frequently quizzed a question about his love life and marriage. But in an interview with CNN, he said that when I was working in the US fell in love and wanted to get marriage. Both of we want to came back to India. During the same year, there a conflict between Chinese and India. She felt insecure of her life so she didn’t come to India and married another one in the US. In 1962 he came back to India because of his grandmother’s ill health.
Ratan Tata is really a good human being. Due to his services and assistance to the Industrial sector, the impressed Government of India honored him with second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan in 2008. The many prestigious universities all over the world honored him with honorary doctorates.
